About Us

Our family business began in 1973 with a discussion with a next door neighbor over the back fence. We both were new school teachers, just out of college and pretty much broke. Both landscaping our back yards having built new homes for our fledgling families and needing some extra income to meet our bills. We decided that day to start a part time job working together doing some landscaping for people in the neighborhood. We dug deep in or pockets and found $400.00 each, bought an old truck, some rakes and shovels and went to work. Three years later Len decided to go back to University and earn a Masters degree. I borrowed money from my father and paid $27,000.00 for his share of the business. My neighbor and long time friend passed away a few years later at a very young age, a victim of cancer, but the business survived. There were hard times, but good times always followed. 52 years later our company is now an international corporation distributing fencing and outdoor products.

Over the years our company has landscaped well over 100 senior citizens complexes, hospitals, and shopping complex's all over Alberta, the Yukon, NWT, Sask or BC.

Many large shopping complex's and 100's of personal residences are part of our landscaping legacy.

Tree Farming - 1980's - 1990's

For years our business included growing trees. We sold them to other landscapers, or used them ourselves on the many landscaping projects we did. Trees grown in our nursery are now standing proudly in Fort Macleod, Grande Prairie, Red Deer, Lloydminster, Jasper Park, and many other towns and cities in Alberta. Many of our projects required fencing and as a result we developed relationships with over 25 manufactures supplying products to the fencing industry
